Pathway Update: Diving Deep into Development!

Published Wed 03 Jul 2024

It's been a whirlwind few months here at the Artistic Swimming Australia pathway program, and we're not slowing down anytime soon! We've been working hard to prepare our athletes for upcoming competitions and development opportunities.

April Youth & Junior Camp: Kicking things off, our talented young athletes participated in a productive Youth and Junior camp back in April at the AIS in Canberra. This camp provided a valuable platform for skill development, team building, and laying the groundwork for upcoming competitions. Building Strong Foundations: To further enhance their skills, our Youth and Junior teams joined forces with Gymnastics ACT for a fantastic acrobatics skill development sessions. Mastering those essential acrobatics skills was the focus, and the collaborative effort proved to be a huge success!

Junior World Championship Selection: Congratulations to the athletes who've been selected for the Junior World Championships! The final team selection process was highly competitive, and we're confident our representatives will shine on the international stage. Meet with the Junior Team: meet-junior-team

State-Based Mini Camps: To further support our developing athletes, we've held state-based mini camps featuring our National Pathway Coach. These intensive sessions provided focused training and mentorship, empowering athletes to train on the high-performance level in their regions.

Youth Team Heads to Thailand: Our Youth team is currently immersed in a training camp in Thailand! This exciting opportunity allows them to gain valuable international experience and hone their skills in a new environment. Share experiences and training with the Thailand Team.

Junior Team Heads to Canberra: The Junior team isn't wasting any time either! Later this week, they'll be heading to Canberra for a final pre-championship training camp. This intensive training period will ensure they're in peak condition for the Junior World Championships in Peru, held at the end of August.

The youngest in action as well – Going for Green & Gold Camps: The highly anticipated Green & Gold camps are running during the winter school holidays. Last weekend, the camp was at the Gold Coast, and you can still register for the Melbourne camp. These camps are a fantastic opportunity for young athletes to develop their skills, make new friends, and experience the joy of artistic swimming in a fun and supportive environment.

Stay tuned for further updates on these exciting events and the continued development of our talented Artistic Swimming athletes!
