Published Wed 16 Feb 2022
Pathway Initiatives for 2022.
Artistic Swimming Australia (ASA) is delighted to announce we have been able to support a number of underpinning State Pathway Talent Identification initiatives for 2022.
Through the Australian Institute of Sport (AIS) Pathway Grant, we have provided direct funding support of $40,000 to state initiatives around the Brisbane 2032 Talent Identifications camps, strengthening Performance Cubs / Centre of Excellence.
These Centers of Excellence will also benefit from a range of exciting expert support services around physiology, performance psychology, strength and conditioning, and more.
Stay tuned for an exciting announcement in the following days.
Australian National Pathway Coaches
Artistic Swimming Australia is delighted to announce the National Coaching Team for the rest of the current Paris 2024 Olympic Cycle.
The successful seven coaches are:
- Krisztina Szedlak (QLD)
- Ana Mendigutxia (WA)
- Emanuelle Mah (NSW)
- Alexandra Del Sorbo (WA)
- Rebecca Maher (VIC)
- Rose Stackpole (WA)
- Nawal Leon Kurson (WA)
- Vicki Nagyova (QLD)
ASA would like to congratulate the coaches on their selection and would like to highlight that these are voluntary roles, and with the rest of the Artistic Swimming community, thank them for their contribution to the pathway system. The coaches will be led by the National Head Coach, who is currently being recruited.
We are happy to confirm the coach learning and development initiative has started well. Krisztina Szedlak has completed the AIS Elevate Leadership Program, and is a current member of the AIS Summit Coach Program.
Emmanuel Mah has been enrolled in the 2022 AIS Elevate Leadership Program.
All national coaches will have mentoring opportunities through their work with the incoming Head National Coach, and we will work on an individual prescriptive basis to ensure we meet their continual professional development needs.
The new Athlete Coach Transition Program has also been launched to help athletes transition to the coaching landscape.
The new ASA website and eLearning portal (which will contain the new Foundation Coach Education Course and Skills Acquisition Program ‘Synchro Skills’) will be launched on 1st March.
With so much happening in the National Pathway space, we have added a date in the calendar for a Pathways Informational Webinar - Thursday 24th February at 2000 (Queensland).
