Kerrie Hammett Receives Life Membership!

At the November AGM the ASA Board was happy to award Kerrie Hammett with Life Membership to ASA.

 

Kerrie became involved in Artistic Swimming in 1999 when her daughter began the sport.  It did not take her long to commence her first volunteer role within the sport, becoming the club secretary one month into her daughter's participation.  She then joined the State committee two years later and the National board three years later.

Kerrie has been a member at either Club, State, and/or National level every year since 1999 (23 years) and is currently a Life Member of the Gold Coast Mermaids Club, is the ASQI Vice President, and a member of the ASA nominations committee.   Kerrie has volunteered in a variety of throughout her time in the sport and has been in attendance and contributed to almost every State and National Championship held (all Australian Championships held but one, so 21 out of 22).

Kerrie has also created, edited or modified either individually, or with a working committee, many of the documents used over the years at club, state and national levels including Constitutions, bylaws, policies, selection criteria, and many more, and shows and ongoing commitment with this work. 

Kerrie knows the in’s and out’s of the sport, and dedicates her time and expertise where needed without hesitation.  She is a great asset to the Sport both at a State and National level.
