First Going For Gold Camps a Hit on the Gold Coast!
Published Fri 20 Jan 2023
The 'Going For Gold ' Camp was held at the Gold Coast Aquatics Centre on the 18-20th January and was a major success.
Twenty-four, twelve, and under athletes enjoyed world Class coaching and support from Marina Kholod, Krisztina Szedlak, and Olympian Rachel Presser over three days.
The Australian Olympic Committee's 'Olympics Unleashed' program, supported by the Queensland Government, was a highlight with Olympic medalist Taylor McKeown kind enough to tell her inspiring athletes to the Brisbane-focused Queesnalnders.
The new 'Boys in Artistic Swimming' program also got off to a great start, with two boys included in the group.
National Pathway Coach Krisztina Szedlak commented, "It has been a very busy month between the National camp in Canberra and now the Going For Gold camp on the Gold Coast, but it has been amazing to see the enthusiasm of the young athletes and the potential with a couple of seven-year-olds. A special thanks to the AOC for letting their Olympians Unleashed program visit the camp, which the kids loved, and hopefully, we can get them back to the next six camps".
