2022 Hancock Prospecting Australian National Championships

On behalf of Artistic Swimming Queensland and Artistic Swimming Australia, we welcome our Athletes, Officials, Volunteers, Families and Supporters to the 2022 Hancock Prospecting Australian Artistic Swimming Championships, we are thrilled to be once again hosting these championships. We would like to thank our supporters of Artistic Swimming in Queensland and Australia; we look forward to your continued support.

Over the past 2 year we have seen the introduction of virtual competitions for Artistic Swimming to allow our Athletes to still experience the thrill of competing and this year’s Championships will be no different with an introduction of a hybrid competition for the first time in Australia.

This year we have opened the Championships to run as Virtual as well as Live to allow for Athletes from International Clubs who are unable to travel to compete. We have a total of 319 Athletes competing from 26 clubs from Malaysia, New Caledonia, New Zealand, Philippines, Singapore, Taipei, and Australia, where 205 of these Athletes from 14 of those clubs will be competing live at the Sleeman Aquatic Centre Chandler QLD from 1st July to 4th July 2022.

A highlight of this year’s event is the increasing gender equity as our sport not only grows its traditional female numbers but also the inclusion of males in our sport. The last time the ustralian Championships was held in Brisbane (2018) we had 1 male compete in a team routine. At this championships we have 14 Males competing in Male Solo, Mixed Duet and team events.

It is fantastic to see the male inclusion growing, and look forward to seeing this increase significantly with the anticipated Male inclusion being increased World Championship, and possibly Olympic levels.

We wish all our Athletes the very best for their swims and a great competition, lets continue to grow the sport of Artistic Swimming.

Routines can be seen:

1.30pm to 4.45 pm Friday 1st July
