AIS Athlete Categorisation
The Australian Institute of Sport's National Athlete Categorisation Framework (NCAF) is used by state institutes/academies and National Sporting Organisation's to inform planning and prioritise support to Australian athletes.
The NCAF has been developed to provide a consistent basis, both within and across sports to:
- Identify the athletes with the greatest potential to contribute to Australia consistently winning medals at major international events;
- Inform the prioritisation of support to these athletes; and
- Track their performance over time.
Artistic Swimming Australia completed a review of its Athlete Categorisation Criteria and categorisation processes recently to align with the NCAF and the Direct Hancock Prospecting Athlete Support.
Please find below the Artistic Swimming AIS Athlete Categorisation Framework Policy, AIS Categorisation Development Targets (Future Success Indicators), and dAIS Associated Policies.
More information on the NCAF is available on the AIS website.
